Summer Camp Play

Katie's 6th Grade Choir started practicing for a fun school play 2 months before the end of school.  Tryouts were held and Katie was given the star role of Camper #2.
She had a couple lines to say during the play.  Here she is just to the right of the bear trying to look very scared!
She memorized all the music and choreography very quickly.  This is definitely right up her alley!  Katie loves to sing and perform up on stage!
There were risers set up along the side wall where everyone was able to sing when they were not up on the stage.
The lighting is not great in this one, but Katie is in the center and smiling directly at me!  She knew I would be out there with a camera!
The choreography was cute and the storyline was very humorous!  There were other teachers in the play also as the camp counselors to the kids.
The play was a huge success!  There were several after school rehearsals during the two weeks leading up to the play.  The kids worked so hard on this program and it totally paid off!  I thought the principal did a great job with his speaking lines (I had spoken with him earlier that afternoon in the office and he sounded pretty nervous having been talked into this speaking part with the guarantee that he wouldn't have much to memorize - his part was very big as the leader of the camp)  This was a very fun night to watch and be a part of!  Katie had a great time and performed excellent!  She really gets into her music and with her Summer Camp play over, Katie really is ready for summertime to begin!
