Our Little Princess Turns 3!

We celebrated Bex's birthday right in the middle of our packing to move the following weekend out to Magnolia.  So it was pretty quick and simple.  She is all about princesses and dolls and outdoor fun.  I can't believe my baby is 3 years old already!  What a great life we have shared together!
Baby Bex was so excited to see her big presents all lined up!
Princess Sophia is one of her favorite TV shows to watch and this doll was a big hit!
 Next she opened a scooter
Here she is ringing her bell on her new princess bike

Of course she had to try out her bike in the house first!
 Cruising
Pedaling is harder than it looks!  Had to recruit daddy for more help!
She's slowly getting the hang of it!
 Scooter time!
 Safe with extra help
I think I'll take this ride around the block now
After a super yummy salmon dinner at our cousin's house, it was time to break out the cake!
 Blowing out the candles
Happy Birthday sweet baby girl!
I cannot believe how grown-up you have become and so independent!  Rebecca is quite the singer in our house these days and loves to put on a show in front of the bathroom mirror each morning.  Her laughter is contagious and I cannot imagine our family without Bex!
I love you so much baby girl!!!
Happy 3rd Birthday!

Tub Fun

I was heading out to work this morning and the kids came into my bathroom to entertain me (I mean themselves)
After piling all the pillows into our bath tub Matthew and Bex proceeded to jump right in!
They had fun burying themselves and jumping into the soft pillow landing
Emily had to come and join, but I think 3 was a crowd!  These kids crack me up with their ideas of fun!

House for Lease

We have had a stressful time finding a home in Magnolia for us to lease and now having the house we live in up for lease.  We have lived in this home for our 2 years in Texas so far and have loved it!  With our lease up at the end of July, we found a beautiful home in Magnolia and are starting to pack for our move at the beginning of August.  Our new house has a much bigger yard and is right around the corner from Sam's job.  Although we will miss Cypress, I believe this new start for our family will be great!  When Sam and I got married last year, he moved into our home and so this will be our first home together.

Now if only we could get this house to lease - I am tired of having to pick up and run out the door at any given time for a showing.  And the job of keeping it clean with 4 kids home all day in the summertime, is a huge task!  The kids have been very helpful in our "cleaning drills" as I like to call it and are getting spoiled with trips to the ice cream shop!

Round #2 for Glasses

At Emily's yearly check-up this year, her pediatrician recommended getting her eyes checked and possible glasses.  After doing this with Katie last year, it was no surprise when we discovered that Emily needed glasses too.  She had to do that fun test where they put eyedrops in and her pupils were super dilated for 24 hours.  She looked like those crazy dog/cat cards with the huge goggle eyes.  It was so fun to tease her for a bit!  She did steal my sunglasses to wear wherever we went that day.  While choosing the perfect pair of frames for her, I had fun watching her try on the brightest colors possible - there is nothing quiet about this girl!  She settled on a bright pink pair and we instantly fell in love with them!  She does have a different look to her now and it will take a little while to get used to, but I think she looks fabulous!

Happy 4th of July America!

This year we headed out to Tomball for their fireworks show at about 7:00 that night.  People were starting to gather in the Target parking lot and we found the perfect spot!  We brought our cooler filled with our favorite soda and water along with plenty of snacks and our chairs for viewing the show.  Here we are all setup!
And the girls caught lounging around
I just wanted one nice picture of Sam and I - this is what I got.
And the Vampire comes out in the daylight!  My crazy fun guy!!!
Emily wanted to pose with me for a tummy picture at 5 months pregnant.  I had my nails done awesome blue for this patriotic occasion!
While the boys went into Target to buy a few toys, the girls got into the fireworks stash and found the poppers - I happened to be their favorite target to toss them at!
 Here is Bex snapping Katie
Everyone had fun throwing those little poppers at eachother's feet.
The boys returned with a hula hoop, bouncy ball and a nerf football
Bex and Emily playing basketball - slam dunk!
 More basketball fun
Katie and Sam take a minute to relax before joining the football game!  Love watching these two goofballs together!
We had such a great time in the parking lot before the show!  But once that sun decided to go down, it got dark very quickly!  Let the fireworks begin!

Light 'Em Up!

As soon as the fireworks started up, all the booms and bangs made one little girl get a bit nervous!
She was adorable cuddling up with daddy
The show went on for a whole hour!  I thought they would never end!
They were so beautiful!  We loved them all!!!
All the kids from the vehicles around us came to join our group throughout the night which made it very entertaining watching them play keep away with the football, basketball with the big ball and hula hoop, tag, and eating/drinking from the cooler we brought.   I think the cheese balls were a big hit!  It was fun to share and hear all the laughter as the kids played on!  We met some very nice people that night!
Bex did eventually warm up to the fireworks
She even enjoyed watching them by the end.  Love the fireworks in the background!
 My little hula hoop girl!
After the show ended, we packed everything up in the van, said good-bye to all our new friends and headed home for our own sparklers in the driveway.

Sparklers are always such a big hit!

We had a great fourth of July celebration this year and proudly wore our red, white and blue!  It was nice to spend the day reflecting on this great country and all the liberties we are able to enjoy in our lives!  Just wanted to say a special thank you to all the men and women who serve our country, making it possible for us to live in the land of the free!
