Halloween Night

Our Trick or Treating crew! Katie is from Five Nights at Freddy's, Matthew is a creepy jester, Emily the pirate and Bex is Elsa (Jacob not shown was a Minion)
Loved the row of pumpkins lighting this driveway
The creepy haunted house garage - I let the kids walk through while Uncle Brad and I stood watch closeby.
We went trick or treating at a friendly neighborhood nearby - my friend Braedy lives there and was all decked out for Halloween!
She gave the kids tons of candy and let them taste test her Halloween party snacks!
Walking door to door - I would pace the kids in the van dropping them off at one end of the street with Uncle Brad and then I would drive to the end and walk back towards them, meeting in the middle.
Love the spooky decorations
So the kids claim that these super creepy clowns made their way out into the street just to scare their mom into screaming and running mode. I will neither claim or deny this account as it may or may not have happened! But let me tell you that I think clowns are so super creepy! And the kids just laughed at me!
Tried to get a group shot with Uncle Brad and this is as good as it gets! Uncle Brad, Emily, Katie, Bex and Matt
The kids had so much candy that we had to dump their buckets into bags in the back of our van several times throughout the night!
This year, much like last year, there was a character dressed up as Michael from the Halloween movies. He stood motionless until you engaged him. Last year he freaked me out and this year there was no disappointment there! I was in the drivers seat screaming out the window for my kids to run to the van so we could take off as soon as I saw Michael walking down the street towards us. I was fine until he popped up right in front of me at my window! I holy freaked out! Brad saw my panic and calmed me while my kids laughed at me. Jason followed me around for awhile because apparently I scream loud and am easily frightened. I could not get away from there fast enough!

Matthew making his way up the drive for some candy

Miss Braedy's house by far was the most fabulous! She goes all out for Halloween, planning months in advance of how she's going to decorate!
I love watching the older kids helping Rebecca out this year and keeping her safe! They are such a great group of kids together!
Special thanks to Uncle Brad for walking with us tonight! He was a lot of fun and I hope he enjoyed a Halloween night out with us! These kids were so exhausted by the end of our trick or treating and they all slept hard that night! Thank goodness it was the weekend!
Happy Halloween 2015!!!

Trunk or Treat Carnival

Halloween is finally here! The kids are so excited to dress up! Jacob is a Minion, Emily pirate, Bex is Elsa, Katie is a creepy Five Nights at Freddy's character, and Matt is a morbid joker
We started our Halloween off with the ward trunk or treat carnival. Here's Elsa with Spiderman (Hudson)
Doing the cake walk
 Katie and Sabrina
Matthew enjoying some of the carnival games
Jacob found the balloons!
Ending the night with trunk or treating through the parking lot of the church! The kids had a great time loading up on sugary sweets! I think everyone made it around at least 3 times this year!

Cub Scout Carnival

For our pack meeting this month, each of the scout groups were in charge of 1-2 games for the carnival. Sam is the Cub Master and did a great job being in charge!
Matthew throwing a ball to knock down the stacked cups
 The boys are fishing
Ice bucket challenge where everyone had to take off their shoes and socks and put their feet in the ice cold water and see who could keep their feet in the longest! Brrrrrrrr!!!
 Pumpkin bowling. Go Bex!
I think all the kids had a great time! And Jacob was a big helper for Sam!
With Grandma in town, she got to help Rebecca with a few games like this Fear Factor - put your hand in the box and feel what's inside and give a guess as to what it could be.
Uncle Brad playing Pin the nose on the Clown - this is the game Matthew was in charge of.
Bex does not look too sure about sticking her hand in that thing! Grandma did good helping her out! What a fun night to spend at the church and with Grandma and Uncle Brad!

Round #2 for Braces

Our awesome Emily got braces put on today and she is very excited to get this process started!
Hopefully we can get started on her impacted tooth soon and get these teeth straight!
So close to Halloween and lucky enough to have Gru (Ashley) putting her braces on today!
She definitely has a lot to smile about before the pain sets in! It will be a long process, but I know Emily will be so happy with her straight teeth once Dr. Pratt is all finished with her!

Grandma Visits

We love it when Grandma Whimpey comes to visit us in Texas! This is her usual fall trip, right before Halloween!
Katie is so thrilled to have actually passed Grandma up in height! Yikes! She is getting so tall! Mom is next for sure!
Uncle Brad brought Grandma home from the airport and gets to visit when she's in town also! Of course we had to have ice cream to celebrate!!!
Grandma and Katie catching good conversation!
Sam got to visit with mom and Brad after work
Megan, Jacob, Matthew, Grandma, Bex, Katie, Emily and Brad pose for the traditional family picture before heading to bed! What a great crew!

Bingo Babes

I was coerced into playing Bingo with Braedy on Saturday night at the high school!
In true party fashion, we wore our Halloween hats!
And we totally lost every single game, but had a great time stamping up our cards! Here we both have Bingo's but this was the final game that we were supposed to play as Black Out! Dang it! So close!
To drown our sorrows - super yummy cheesecake!
We stopped for dessert and were pleasantly surprised to have some live entertainment at Genu-wine on our way home. We may have busted at Bingo, but it's never a dull moment for Braedy and I! Win or lose, we always find a way to have fun together!

Activity Days Celebration

Emily is going to be in YW before we know it! She has enjoyed participating in Activity Days for the past 3-1/2 years now and will miss her teachers next year! Here she is sharing an article of faith from memory!
Sitting with her peeps!
Emily is on the far right conducting their musical number - Gethsemane - which is the most beautiful song ever! She is amazing!
Emily receiving her sash from Sis. Zamora
All of the girls had a display along the wall for everyone to look at and learn more about each one! Emily shared what she had learned from her Faith in God book which included talents - artwork, sheet music; and a picture representing her testimony of Joseph Smith and the scriptures.
The girls and their families brought treats to share and of course it was all so yummy! The theme for tonight was: I know my Savior Lives.
Had to sneak a picture with our fave! Kristen Zamora is such a fun, lovable, knowledgeable woman of faith that Emily really looks up to! We love her to pieces and Emily has been blessed to have her as a primary teacher and Activity Days teacher every other Tuesday night this year! Her love for the gospel has definitely rubbed off on my Emily and I love watching her testimony grow and grow! What a beautiful celebration our whole family was able to enjoy!
