Matt's Sky Zone Surprise!

Matthew turned 10 years old today!
We had a very low-key celebration after scouts and young women's activities before heading to bed.
Fun hanging out with the family and eating birthday brownies with ice cream
My favorite picture of these two! We sent Matthew off to bed thinking that this was his whole birthday celebration, nothing too impressive.
The following day, a couple of his friends showed up on our doorstep
 And they brought presents
Matthew was so surprised! It was so hard to keep this secret, but Byron and Alex were such great buddies to help surprise him!
And then we were off to Sky Zone for some serious indoor trampoline fun!
The boys getting their jumping rules explained to them (this was Alex and Byron's first time being there)
Let the bouncing begin!
And back flips!
This is seriously Matthew's favorite place on Earth!
Dodgeball was their quick favorite spot!

These boys always stayed on the same team!

I had a lot of fun cheering for them!

Go Matthew!

They also made it to the basketball area
Tried to slam dunk like the pros!
Coming on a school night was great because there were hardly any lines at the different stations

And of course the foam pit was a blast!

 Matthew and Byron side-by-side
Climbing out was always an adventure
 More basketball fun
Then right back to dodgeball!
1-1/2 hours of pure bouncing fun!
At the end of the night, these boys were exhausted! After leaving Sky Zone, we drove around the corner to McDonald's for McFlurries and the boys were able to spend 30 minutes in the Playland there also! What a night! We left our house at 5:30 and after dropping Byron and Alex off at their houses, we didn't get home until 10:00 that night! And boy did Matthew ever crash!!!
Happy birthday Matthew and way to mark this decade with your surprise party!

Birthday Boy's Lunch

This young man turned 10 today!
So Sam, Jacob and I brought him lunch from McDonald's of course! I think this has been Matthew's lunch of choice his entire elementary school career so far - 10 piece chicken nuggets and an M&M McFlurry! He keeps it real simple!
Matthew has grown up a ton this year! Sometimes I look at him and just wonder how did this little boy become such a big kid? His little brother Jacob follows Matthew everywhere and I love that Matthew doesn't mind at all! These two are going to be such great buds for life! Enjoy the rest of 4th grade and keep giving your momma big hugs before bedtime! Happy Birthday Matthew!!!

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Easter!
With church starting at 9:00am and the choir needing to be there at 8:15am to practice, we were not able to celebrate Easter until noon. We got home from church and raced into our play clothes and then everyone was able to enjoy their Easter baskets followed with the Easter Egg Hunt in our backyard!
We started egg hunting with Bex and Jacob only

Jacob had fun searching down low!
Bex wanted to climb and reach high this year!
As soon as he could, Jacob was opening his eggs and dumping out his candy!
After Bex and Jacob had fun finding their dozen eggs, it was time to let the big kids out to search!

Matthew searched all over the little house!
We even caught Katie climbing!

Crazy climbing boy!

Emily found the highest egg!

It was a group effort to find the very last egg!
Even Lucky, the puppy dog we were babysitting this weekend, had to help!
Look at those happy faces! Easter was a great success this year! I loved celebrating in the correct order with church first, then the Easter bunny afterwards! We are so grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the powerful influence that knowledge has in each of our lives! Happy Easter!!!
